The Fleming Dog Proof Raccoon Trap features a fully enclosed dog proof design with powerful double coil springs, a pull only trigger system and a straight spade staking system.
The Dog Proof Trap Set Tool is recommended since the springs are very strong and if you set very many traps this will help.
The trap is fired when the raccoon reaches in for your bait, and instead grabs the trigger, firing the trap. The trigger can only be fired by the raccoon pulling on the trigger. A pull only trigger helps prevent unwanted catches or rodents accidentally firing the trigger. When baiting Dog Proof Coon Traps; apply the lure or bait to a cotton ball or sheep's wool. Place below the trigger so the raccoon has to reach past the trigger to get the bait.
These dog proof traps are painted and come in the colors brown, green, orange or white. Since they are painted they do not need to be dyed or waxed to prevent rusting.

I really like this trap especially if you are a beginner to trapping I just started trapping about two months ago and I have already caught 4 raccoons and 3 possums and 1 skunk also they are really easy to set if you watch a couple of Kendall grays videos on YouTube it is an amazing trap it surprised me.
Really easy to set not hard to work at all
There are no cons for this trap it is amazing for a lot of beginners

My green traps work really good but there not from this company. I bought traps that are white from here and have caught nothing in them but my other traps are built almost The same.the difference is the lever in the trap that coons grab is just a lever ,and the anes that work the best are the ones with the loop inside .. also I bought six traps from here and only 4 worked I could not get the others to even set the trap lever outside the trap would not stay in the the setting lever.
I will let you know if the color matters Iā€™m going to paint these green and see if it changes anything

I have 8 Dukes and recently purchased 2 Fleming dog proofs. After a week, one Fleming trap will not hold when set and is unusable. The Flemings seem sturdy but they are a little more difficult to set using Duke setting tool.

I really like these traps, they have a heavy powder coat on them a drain hole in the bottom and are a easy trap to set and use on the trap line. The dog is easy to set on the trigger unlike some others I own.

Dog-proof raccoon trap WORKS!

I was a bit puzzled by the addition of the purely cosmetic plate, on your new traps, on the outside of the trap mechanism. It made my old trap tool useless! Fortunately, I had also ordered new trap tools, because I was always misplacing the one I had. Anyone with the older traps NEEDS the new tool, if they buy a new one! You need to make this clear in your product descriptions! However, once I had the new tool, the new trap worked just as well as the older one, and I caught my chicken killer. I am a 68 yr old woman, with some arthritis, and setting the traps is hard for me, but not impossible. Your traps work MUCH better than the box-type live traps that I used to use, before I found your company on the internet. Since Florida requires that predator raccoons be killed, not relocated, the fact that they must be dispatched, to get them out of the trap, is not a problem for me, although that also might need to be in your product description, for others, who may be too squeamish.

Coons destroying your sweet corn-get even!

I had coons destroy almost all my sweet corn. I set 2 Fleming DP with cat treats as bait. I got 3 so far. I have a smaller patch of sweet corn they haven't touch yet. Traps are easy to set. I haven't caught a non-target critter.
Easy to set. Haven't caught skunks, cats or other non-target animals. Effective traps. Haven't had a coon pull out of one so they hold well.

Caught Coons but Missed More.

I like Fleming Traps alot but on the few I have the raccoon always seem to pull out of the trap and then other times they are in the trap like glue. I don't know if the one I bought are defective or what but I would like to give them another go.
Nice looking trap.
Good solid paint job and a few haven't rusted over the 1 year of use.
