Fleming Dog Proof Raccoon Trap - 2-Pack with Set Tool - Galvanized
The Fleming Dog Proof Raccoon Trap features a fully enclosed dog proof design with powerful double coil springs, a pull only trigger system and a straight spade staking system.
The Dog Proof Trap Set Tool is recommended since the springs are very strong and if you set very many traps this will help.
The trap is fired when the raccoon reaches in for your bait, and instead grabs the trigger, firing the trap. The trigger can only be fired by the raccoon pulling on the trigger. A pull only trigger helps prevent unwanted catches or rodents accidentally firing the trigger. When baiting Dog Proof Coon Traps; apply the lure or bait to a cotton ball or sheep's wool. Place below the trigger so the raccoon has to reach past the trigger to get the bait.
These dog proof traps are galvanized so they do not need to be dyed or waxed to prevent rusting.

Best Raccoon Trap Made!

Been trapping raccoons for years. They constantly poop on my pool deck and in my pool. Been using the cage trap all along. Seen this raccoon trap on the internet and bought one and baited it with fish chum. This trap is awsome. No more getting a free snack and taking off. If you got raccoons, this trap is the best. Throw them cage traps away. Make sure you buy the setting tool also.
Easy to set, easy to remove animal and easy to clean.

The traps are great. Shipping took longer than expected and unfortunately I didn't receive everything that I ordered. Had trouble getting ahold of anyone but once I did he was very polite and apologized for the trouble. Sent the rest of my order that day. Can't ask for much more

Too weak to hold a racoon

It did a great job trapping a racoon, but a poor job holding on to it. As soon as I showed up to it, this animal free himself and it was gone.
Great idea

Effective and simple

I’ve been using tube traps for a good while and know how effective they are. Naturally they are exposed to mud and water that eventually creates rust. These galvanized traps, I’m hoping and expecting will not be inclined to rust as much. It took me a minute or two to figure out how to use the setting tool but found it to be very handy. I’m happy with my purchase of the traps.
Easy to set and rust resistant. Also very effective on coons, possums, and skunks.

Catches good, trigger won't reset

I have used this design trap before and it works great. However, after the first use, the trigger would not hold set anymore. I had to file the notch to a different angle to get it to hold set. I have only used 1, the other one may be better.
Safe from non targeted species.

I bought a package of two dog free raccoon traps and both would not hold the trigger or set properly. I called and emailed Fleming to get guidance on how to set. No response to this date. I took a video to show exactly how trigger kept slipping off and failed to set. It is available for all to watch.

hard to use

First the set tool was to wide and had to be placed in a vise on order to use it. Second, the traps would not hold once the tool was released. I ended up having to file both the trigger and bar that hold the trap set. The reason being that both items were to slick and would not stay set at all. After the filing I finally got the traps to work.
