Awesome trap and works great! Add a marshmallow under the trigger and the racoons cannot resist.
I use 5 dozen of these traps during the trapping season with excellent results.

First time ever trapping, I want to say I love these traps. I have caught 12 raccoons already and that is in approximately 3 weeks. I put some marshmallows down below the trigger mechanism and some above the trigger just a few smaller ones. I also place a piece of one on the rim of the trap just for alittle extra. The traps set easily and can be done a lot easier by using the metal piece that connects to the spring latch. You can use the metal piece to help push in the trap and then connect to the spring latch. Just FYI you can offset the metal on the spring latch to make it a hair trigger release same principle as a mouse trap. It helps catch the few sly critters. I used a 3 inch deck screw to attach to saplings or right into a tree with the hole in the last link of the chain works perfectly. Get some of these traps if you really want to get rid of raccoons, Remember this is not a catch and release trap you have to euthanize the animals.

I had initially priced these traps at a big box store where they were nearly twice the price that of Flemings. I decided to pass and shopped online instead. Flemings had the most competitive price so I ordered twelve traps. The traps came in as expected and were exactly as advertised. I added some cabling to anchor the traps and set them later the next weekend. They were very easy to set, transportable, durable, and effective in catching raccoons. I have only set them on three different nights, but have caught eleven raccoons in total. I have already recommended Flemings and the Duke Dog Proof traps to all my friends and co-workers who are looking for an effective and efficient trap.

The Duke dog proof traps are just what I needed. Reese are well made traps save time by not having to dig a hole for a set trap and are very effective.

I’ve been using Duke DP’s for about a yesr to control coons around my chicken coop and they work very well. They’re a little lighter than other brands and consequently a little cheaper than others I’ve used. Interested in seeing how long they last in comparison. So far so good.

These Duke dogproof traps are a good value. The powder coat finish is nice, but it would be nice to have an option for a brighter color. Raccoons like flashy things. The spring is very stout, therefore, I recommend using a setter or a flat blade screwdriver to set the traps. Your hands will get tired and sore if you are bare handing it.

This is the easiest to set and put bait in and catch the coon. Best idea ever

Ok, I do believe this is a good trap but it isn't working well in my location because I bought a cap from somewhere else due to having cats. The raccoon is digging up my yard and also seems uninterested in the bait! I have no doubt "IF" I could use no cap I would have caught him by now. Also I am not an expert trapper just a guy trying to get rid of a raccoon digging up my backyard for grubs! I really wanna get him but I am so afraid of catching one of my cats! I may have to go with a live trap so if a cat gets in there no harm.

The Duke is an awesome tool for dispatching coons! I have dispatched 41 coons to date. Only 1 has been able to escape The Duke's grasp and this was 100% my fault. I added length to the anchor chain allowing the coon up in a tree. It hung over a branch by its trapped arm and must have been able to release itself by the angle and its own weight hanging straight down. This is the only time the trap has been sprung with no coon.

I have dogs and although I try once in a while a dog will get to the baited Duke Dog Proof trap. Never has my dogs set off the trap. A comforting feeling for me.

I bought a live trap and the racoons kept getting out. I bought this one and caught a raccoon that night. I've just bought 3 more.

The DP Raccoon Trap is well made. However the spring mechanism is so tight that Fleming Trap should recommend purchasing the set tool. It was very difficult to set the trap using the directions without having a set tool.

Traps generally work as advertised. Wish they were made in USA instead of China. I’ve heard that similar products are US made.

The raccoon tripped the dog proof coon trap twice and destroyed my sweet corn crop

I caught one raccoon the first night I used it. Set it up again and it caught a second one - but I didn't have the trap secured correctly and the raccoon took off with it.

I am buying another one and this time I will make SURE it's secured! :)
