These traps are really nice. My first dogless traps so there was a little learning curve. Make sure you clean the wax off the night latch groove before you try and set the trap after waxing. My thumbs almost paid the price for my inexperience. Caught a big tom bobcat the first night I set these.

Great trap for a.cheap price. Rates just as high as any other dogles trap in my book. Made tough and beds very well. Definitely will be a coyote trap for me.

Really a good trap with some work

Ordered a half dozen to add to our coyote and bobcat sets. The trap is really fast and just got one in the dirt. I will say up front Duke traps customer service is outstanding. Now for the bad, these traps as they came to me are dangerous for a beginning trapper... the night latch on the pan is not right. You will have to file them square, it is angled and no discernible lip for the night latch to catch, you can set them night latched, when not filed they will fire when putting dirt over the pan. I emailed duke about this issue a few times and they were more than responsive with each one. Mr. Duke offered me a trade if I wanted something different but we decided to keep them and go ahead and file them. I doubt I will order any more of these particular traps and will just stay with my 550's. I just don't feel I should have to work on anything brand new out of the box to make it work or safe.......

I purchased a dozen of these last season to try and really liked them. I like how they bed and perform here in southern Indiana. The only thing I have had to do to these was wash, rust, dye, and wax. I'm running them with no modifications. Great trap for the money.
