I recently bought more Duke #160 traps. I noticed the design has changed slightly from my old traps. I don't know if they're using stronger springs now or if I'm just getting old but my standard setting tongs were almost impossible to use. If you're buying body traps for the first time, just bite the bullet and order a locking setting tool, it's worth the cost.

Definitely worth the price. Worked flawlessly. Made trap setting fast, safe and easy.

I had purchased the shorter strait handled type to start with. They cost a lot less money. They hurt my hands to use them. The first time I used the self locking setters, I set 3 traps in less time than with the straight handles. I is so easy to use with very little effort. You compress the spring and when it is all the way compressed the setters lock. Then all you do is move the safety latch in place.

The locking feature is an incredible addition. I have several long pairs and they're great, but I don't have the strength to hold them closed while I see the lock. Wrestling with a dead 50 pound beaver in a 330 trap was never fun.

Now, it's simple to just close the spring and the auto lock takes over. Easy peasy and I don't even break a sweat.

I'm using a variety of 330 brands and this tool fit them all. I was concerned they wouldn't be long enough as I like to have a lot if leverage but they are fine.

I had got to the place, I had trouble making the cheaper tool to work for me. This was a big improvement. Especially the locking feature for holding the springs while putting the locks in place.

Got some 120's and thought I could set them by hand - wrong! This guy helped out a lot and makes the whole process much safer - highly recommend!

This trap setter is more expensive than some others out there, but it is well worth the extra money. The product is well made of heavy steel. The handles where you grab are cushioned, and the mechanical advantage that you get makes it very easy to set your traps. When the trap's spring is compressed, a small spring loaded lever on the tool snaps into place and locks the tool so your hands are free. I am 64 years old and I can easily set my traps with this tool. I highly recommend it.

New to trapping and this tool has really made setting Conibears pretty easy. The tool locks closed which is nice so you have both hands to set the trap. The angled handles are much easier to use than my straight handled tool. Highly recommend it.
