Long Spring traps were some of the very first traps used by trappers in North America to catch and hold fur bearing animals. Bridger Long Spring Traps are manufactured of steel components but are powered by tempered steel springs that extend out from the trap. Long Spring traps by design are very secure in holding power.
The #5 Bridger Double Long Spring Trap has a 7 1/4" jaw spread, thick jaws, heavy base and strong springs. This trap is extremely strong and fast. Works good for beaver, otter, wolf and lion. The Bridger #5 comes with a 12” 5 mm straight link chain with a heavy duty drowner lock on the end. Fully adjustable round pan.

Long spring

Appears to be a great trap but couldn't give it 5 stars cause we have trouble setting it. Most of our work is done from a boat. Wet slippery conditions are not conducive for setting this one alone.
It's a steel trap...they just work.
Pretty hard to set.

Very pleased with the fit and tolerances on the Bridger no 5 DLS. Simple and time test and proven. Great stuff to all the boys and girls at Bridger. Thanks to the folks at Fleming for the great price and on my porch delivery. Super fast!!

Strong, durable trap. If you want more features, shell out more money for the Duke #5, but a quality trap. Break it over your knee Jack!

I wanted a very large double spring trap this one turned out great the jaw opening is about 8 inches. It's bigger than I expected but just what I was hopeing for
a very large trap
The Jaws of the trap close tight which worked well for my application but may not be what every one wants

The Ultimate Beaver Trap

I have used Bridger #5 traps for beaver and find them second to none. Very stable, excellent holding power, and tough as nails. The extra weight helps take the beaver down to the bottom where they are waiting for me the next day. I will use no other trap when it come to beaver. I did move the chain to the center of the trap and added an extra swivel, just a personal preference.
Well built, rugged, excellent beaver trap.
